One of the most important, but most underrated skills in business is project management.
Whether you’re goal setting, planning milestones, starting a new project / venture, dealing with clients… as long as there’s an outcome that you’re moving towards, project management skills will come in handy.
It’s one of the important foundational skills for business, just like marketing, finance, human resource, etc.
A solid project manager will be able to define goals, break down and map out milestones, assigning tasks to the right people, schedule and keep track of deadlines and anticipate possible issues, prepare for worst case scenarios.
A solid project manager can become great GM, or even COO or higher when they have stronger leadership and strategic thinking skills.
But just because someone has a Project Manager title doesn’t mean that they have what it takes to be a good one.

What needs to happen, by when, by who…
Those are the super basics.
When a PM doesn’t even have that…
It’s like someone claiming they’re an experienced digital marketer… when they only had posted images and short “branded content” on Pages, and maybe clicked on the boost button once in a while.
