Honestly I never really anticipated what it took to actually build this. Yes I’ve read stories online describing the difficulties of building success. But only weeks ago did I really start to think about how much one has to come to terms with by committing to a bigger firm.
Today, we’re playing on a whole other level and it is critical that we see it and recognize it. There is simply no room for breaks or pauses to catch one’s breath. If we don’t up our game as the company grows, what we’ve built so far will fall and crush us below it’s feet.
Simply put, if I choose to be here, it means I have to accept these terms. Terms that will make me very very uncomfortable. Terms that, realistically, not everyone would agree to if they truly understood what it asks for. If I choose to be here, I have to play the game by its rules not my own. We cannot afford anything less than do. I know all of us would have made a verbal commitment many times and I know for a fact that I don’t want to be just a “talker”.
Hence, it’s time I raise myself to the words I speak.
P.s. Do catch me if I fall or lend a hand when I fail. I will be there for all of you if you will be, for me.
And From The Dancer:
I know what’s on the line, and I’m sure lots of us do. Just need to continually remind ourselves of our purpose and reason why we’re here in this company.
The critical thing is:
We need to take ACTION and put in the effort.
There’s only so much they can keep sharing and teaching us Coz of how packed our company’s schedule is. It’s our responsibility to seek out the resources we need to improve our skill set so we can produce and perform at the level required.
In order for the company to move quickly, ideally everyone should be at the same skill level. Each and everyone of us should be good at our individual roles.
That’s how we can move fast.
The biggest thing I learnt is:
Get good fast, and things become much easier.
I’m definitely nowhere near the level I want to be at… And that’s why I continue to keep seeking resources and ways to improve my copywriting.
Cos I know continually honing our skill sets is super important. Critical, in fact.
Each and everyone plays an integral role in our respective projects.
So let’s keep pushing and growing together…
And our projects will fly =)
